Durham Cathedral is about to be transformed once again, as the spectacular light and sound installation Luxmuralis returns for its evening residency this October, flooding its centuries-old nave, columns and cloisters with colour, projection and immersive soundscapes for one unmissable week each autumn.
If you’re paying a visit to the Cathedral after dark, one thing is for sure: you’ll want a warm, dry, well-lit place to leave the car. Luckily, Walkergate sits just a short walk from Durham Cathedral and the World Heritage Site, making it the easiest place to park up before you head in to see the show.
Walkergate’s 500 space car park is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with on-site presence and CCTV surveillance around the clock, so there’s no need to rush back before the doors close, whatever time your Luxmuralis slot finishes. Walkergate’s Night Tariff means enter after 6pm and exit before 6am, and you’ll pay a flat £1.50 for your stay
