A larger than life statue isn’t something you see everyday, but last month at Walkergate, that’s exactly what visitors to Walkergate Durham were met with.
The almost ten-foot-tall Oscar statuette carved from clear ice saw the red carpet rolled out as part of Durham Bid’s Fire & Ice Festival. The annual event blends the heat of the flame with the artistic display of hand carved masterpieces. We have to say, that’s pretty cool.
A big thanks to Lane 7, RIO Brazilian Steakhouse, Katie O’Brien’s, Bohemia, Slug & Lettuce, The Bishops’ Mill, Champagne Bar by Ebony, Ask Italian and Nando’s – our fantastic tenants at Walkergate who helped support and sponsor the two-day installation.
