Catch Streets of Brass this Summer at Walkergate

Durham Brass 2026 is coming ever closer – and Walkergate can’t wait to welcome some exciting acts to our plaza over the course of the festival weekend!

On Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th July, a selection of Durham Brass bands will swing by Walkergate for Streets of Brass!  

Whether you’re planning a special trip into the city centre for the festival or simply enjoying food and drinks at one of Walkergate’s fantastic venues, you’re in for a real treat. Enjoy FREE live performances from internationally celebrated brass musicians throughout the weekend and soak up the vibrant festival atmosphere.

Saturday 18th

15:00 – 15:30 – Loud Noises
The brass band with a difference: bridging the gap between contemporary brass music and high octane dance.

15:40 – 16:10 – Artistas Del Gremio
Artistas del Gremio is a Spanish brass band featuring a stage act built on the musicality of their arrangements, high-energy live performances, and extensive audience interaction infused with playfulness and humor.

16:20 – 16:50 – Mr Wilson’s Second Liners
A rabble of mischievous northerners, Mr Wilson’s Second Liners form a traditional New Orleans style Second Line paying homage to the diehard days of the Hacienda, 90s club culture and its greatest hero, Mr Tony Wilson.

Sunday 19th

15:40 – 16:10 – Girlesque
Girlesque StreetBand is the first and only all-female street band in Italy, featuring musicians from all over Tuscany.

16:20 – 16:50 – Oompah Brass
Oompah Brass are the UK’s original rock ‘n’ roll oompah band, delivering high-energy brass covers of classic rock, pop, and party hits for any event.
