Welcoming Freshers to Walkergate Durham!

Durham Freshers Week at Walkergate

Calling all freshers and established students alike! Durham Freshers Week 2023 will soon be upon us and Walkergate is ready to welcome new and returning students to Durham University.

As one of the most important weeks of a student’s life, Freshers’ Week (25/09/23 – 01/10/23) is a great chance to get to know the best spots in Durham city for food & drink and nights out and socialising. Here at Walkergate Durham, we’ve got you covered for all aspects of your student life in Durham.

Nothing brings people together more than a bit of friendly competition. With bowling, pool tables and beer pong, Lane 7 is a freshers staple to get your night off to a good start. The move on to Katie O’Brien’s Irish Tavern for a range of draught beers and live music every weekend.

Let’s get quizzical! Bond with your course and flat-mates at a Rock & Roll Bingo or Interactive Game Night at Lloyds Number 1 Bar – The Bishops Mill, then get ready to let loose and dance the night away at Bohemia.

Look no further than Rio Brazilian Steakhouse for an authentic Brazilian Churrasco dining experience – its Trip Advisor’s number one restaurant in Durham. Or celebrate in style with an extensive range of drinks to suit all tastes, in a glamorous and sophisticated setting at Champagne Bar by Ebony.

Not to mention, Walkergate is home to dining favourites such as Nando’s, ASK Italian and Slug & Lettuce and a 500 space car park with riverside views. So whatever you’re in the mood for during Freshers Week, there really is something for everyone here at Walkergate Durham.
