Walkergate’s popular charity ghost walks will return to Durham this October, giving ghoul hunters and Halloween lovers the chance to explore some of the city’s spookiest sites after dark.
Each year, Walkergate collaborates with Durham’s favourite ghost whisperer, Andrew Ross, to raise funds for a deserving charity through a bespoke tour of the city centre. Guests can expect to hear tales of Durham’s dark past, including paranormal sightings, murders and mysterious events that have become part of the North East’s rich folklore.
This year, the Ghost Walk will be raising money for Northumbria Blood Bikes, an organisation that delivers blood and other urgent medical supplies out of hours between hospitals and healthcare sites in North East England.
With two tours taking place this October, there will be plenty of opportunities for brave visitors to join the Ghost Whisperer for an evening of chilling stories and spooky discoveries.
Ghost Walk Dates
- Sunday 18th October 2026, 5pm
- Sunday 25th October 2026, 5pm
Participants will meet Andrew Ross at The Bishops Mill, Walkergate, before setting off on a guided ghost walk through Durham city centre, uncovering some of the grisly tales and eerie legends that lurk beneath the surface of this historic city.
At the end of the evening, participants will be rewarded with a warm drink courtesy of The Bishops Mill — the perfect opportunity to warm up, share favourite tales from the tour and perhaps recount a scary story or two of their own.

Walks are £10 per person, with payment required on the night in cash only, with all proceeds going to Northumbrian Blood Bikes charity.
